So, in the beginning… let’s say mid 2007, I, Ryan Shupe, was sitting in my car and an idea came to me… I should start a company and sell the in ear products that me and my band mate Craig Miner had developed over the last 6 years for our own band.
Well, it might not have been that easy, but in any case, there was a moment when i realized that we had made something that nobody else had done.
The project started when we were looking at getting our own band on in-ear monitors… which by the way was one of the best decisions we ever made. In any case, we looked at some shure PSM600 wireless in ear monitors (by the way, we decided later that the Sennheiser EW300IEM G2 Wireless was a better system… just for the record) and realized that in order to go wireless it was going to cost us a pretty penny… and we would still have a cable hanging down unless we got a wireless intrument system. Now that would even add more cost to the project. That wasn’t going to fly so we put out thinking caps on…
mmmmmm… why not combine the in-ear signal and the instrument cable into one cable. We looked into it and couldn’t find anyone who was trying to do what we had done, so we patented the idea of course… it was cheap, efficient, reliable.
Pretty soon we had other bands asking us for the system and everyone liked it. So, the next step was to streamline the system and take it to the market. We actually approached some companies and everyone said the same thing. “Good Idea… go try to sell them and let us know how it goes”. So that’s what we are doing.
